Tyre brands we stock

We carry the big names drivers in the UAE ask for most, including Michelin, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Continental, Dunlop, Goodyear, Cooper, Yokohama, Hankook, Toyo, Kumho and Falken, along with other major brands.

If you are searching for Michelin tyres in Abu Dhabi specifically, or any other brand on that list, tell us the size and we will tell you what is on the shelf. Inventory changes, so a model that was here last week may be out today, and something new may have just arrived. That is why we always ask you to check by phone or WhatsApp before you drive over.

Not attached to a brand? Say so. Many drivers just want a sensible tyre for their car, and we can talk through the options available in your size.

How to read your tyre size

Every tyre has a code moulded into the sidewall. A common one looks like 225/65 R17 102H. Here is what it tells you:

  • 225 is the width of the tyre in millimetres.
  • 65 is the sidewall height as a percentage of the width (the aspect ratio).
  • R means radial construction, which is what nearly all passenger tyres use.
  • 17 is the wheel diameter in inches.
  • 102H is the load index and speed rating.

The first three numbers and the wheel diameter are what matter most when you are matching a tyre to your rim. Do not guess from the car model alone, because the same model can come with different wheel sizes depending on the trim. Read the code off the tyre that is on your car now, or take a photo of it and send it to us.

Using the tyre search on this page

Above this text you will find the tyre search tool. Enter the width, aspect ratio and wheel diameter from your sidewall and it will show matching sizes and brands.

  • Type the numbers exactly as printed, for example 225, 65 and 17.
  • If your car runs different sizes front and rear (some do), search each size separately.
  • Treat the result as a guide. It tells you what we deal in, not what is on the shelf this minute.

Found a match? WhatsApp us the result with a photo of your tyre and we will confirm availability.

Choosing tyres for UAE driving

Roads here are mostly smooth and fast, but the conditions are hard on rubber. A few things are worth thinking about when you choose.

  • Heat. Summer road surfaces get far hotter than the air temperature, and heat builds up inside the tyre on long highway runs. A tyre in good condition and at the right pressure copes much better.
  • Speed rating. Pick a rating that suits your car and how you drive. Follow what the car manufacturer recommends rather than going lower.
  • Load. SUVs, pickups and families who load up for a weekend trip need the right load index. Ask us if you are unsure.
  • Sand and kerbs. If you drive off-road or park against rough edges often, a tyre with a sturdier sidewall can make sense.
  • Noise and comfort. Some tyres are quieter on tarmac than others. If you do a lot of commuting, mention it.

Check the age as well as the tread

Tread depth is the obvious check, but rubber also ages. In hot climates it can harden and crack even if the car barely moves. Look for the DOT code on the sidewall; the last four digits show the week and year of manufacture, so 2423 would mean week 24 of 2023.

As a rule of thumb, many manufacturers suggest having older tyres inspected regularly and replacing them at around ten years regardless of tread. If you are buying, check the date on the tyre you are being offered too. Ask us to show you.

Signs it is time for new tyres

  • The tread is close to the wear bars (small raised bars across the grooves).
  • You can see cracks in the sidewall or between the tread blocks.
  • There is a bulge or blister on the side of the tyre.
  • The car pulls to one side, vibrates at speed or wears the tyre unevenly. That may point to alignment or balancing issues, so see wheel alignment and wheel balancing.
  • The tyre keeps losing air after repairs.

Not sure? Drop in and we will take a look. We offer a free safety check, so you can find out where you stand before deciding anything. More on our tyre change service.

Fitting, balancing and aftercare

New tyres are only as good as the fitting. We fit tyres at the shop, and we can balance the wheels and set the pressure. Nitrogen inflation is available if you want it. If your car has been pulling or wearing unevenly, alignment is worth doing at the same visit.

Frequently asked questions

Which tyre brands do you stock?

We stock major brands including Michelin, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Continental, Dunlop, Goodyear, Cooper, Yokohama, Hankook, Toyo, Kumho and Falken. Inventory changes daily, so call or WhatsApp 050 019 0193 with your size to check what is available.

Do you have my tyre size?

We stock all tyre sizes, but individual models come and go. Send us the code from your tyre sidewall, such as 225/65 R17, by WhatsApp or call, and we will confirm what is available.

How do I find my tyre size?

Look at the sidewall of the tyre fitted to your car. The code looks like 225/65 R17: width in millimetres, aspect ratio, and wheel diameter in inches. Many cars also show it on a sticker in the driver door frame.

Can you fit the tyres after I buy them?

Yes. We fit tyres at our Shakhbout City shop and can balance the wheels and set the pressure at the same visit. If you cannot come to us, ask about our mobile tyre service.

Should I replace all four tyres together?

Not always. Many drivers replace in pairs on the same axle, and some cars, especially four-wheel-drive, need matching tyres on all four. Tell us your car model and we will advise on what makes sense.

How old is too old for a tyre?

Rubber ages even if the tread looks fine. As a rule of thumb, many manufacturers suggest inspecting older tyres regularly and replacing them at around ten years. Check the four-digit DOT date code on the sidewall.
